Legal & General Mortgage Club Awards 2005

The fifth annual Legal & General Mortgage Club Awards took place at the Savoy Hotel, London, and broke the record for attendance, with over 350 intermediaries and lenders participating in the event. The trophies were given out by special guest Alan Hansen, former Liverpool captain and Scottish international.
"In these, the first awards since statutory regulation, all the winners deserve their recognition as continuing to maintain sevice levels and drive innovation at such high levels, against a backdrop of regulation and a slowing market, has been no easy task." Ben Marquand, editor of co-hosting company Mortgage Solutions.

This award is given to the biggest individual IFA business in 2004, or more succinctly, the Top IFA. Leggett & Co beat off competition from Chase de Vere Mortgage Management, which came second, and Charcol in third. Commenting on the win, Luke Errington, partner at Leggett & Co. said: "I am really pleased because although we have been trading since 1960, we are still a family run business. I think that we have done well in the last year because we have got some very good administrative backup, and we took on a new member of staff who digested the FSA rulebook and helped us get a good handle on regulation. Regulation has not unduly bothered us and we have continued to do well, largely through word of mouth.
